Job title: Head of Operational Change

The Head of Operational Change will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the end to end delivery of all operational change activity that impacts the bank in the Home Finance Operation. They will also work with the Home Finance Senior Management Team to ensure that all new change demand aligns with strategic objectives of the bank, is resourced, prioritised, requirements defined and successfully embedded in the operation.

Key responsibilities

  • To work with the Executive and Operational Management Team to identify tactical and strategic change opportunities
  • To work with Senior Management to define local change activity in their area of responsibility and to provide support and guidance to foster a culture of continuous improvement for both customer, colleague and intermediary service
  • To facilitate lean and efficient reviews to ensure that processes are fit for purpose whether to be automated or not and ensure risks associated with Operational Change are considered, documented and mitigated
  • Develop and manage an ongoing road map of Operational Change Requirements
  • Lead the Operational MI analyst to ensure trends and root cause analysis is undertaken and translated in to meaningful, robust and actionable plans
  • Represent Operations across project governance forums
  • To ensure that impactful business operational readiness plans are in place for every change project and to ensure that colleagues are fully supported through training and the change process
  • To ensure that post implementation reviews are carried out and ensure business benefits assessed against those anticipated
  • To secure the necessary resources (people and financial) for any local change where IT solutions are not identified

Skills required

  • Multiple years’ experience in an Operational Management role
  • Project and Change Management experience in a regulated Financial Services environment across the end-to-end customer journey
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of key legislation, regulatory bodies and best practice
  • Excellent understanding of reporting mechanisms
  • Strong ability to analyse information, and make informed judgements
