Job Summary

To support and embed the overall Bank’s Product Governance Framework, whilst supporting the Senior Product Managers with identifying gaps or issues with our consumer products and monitoring remedial actions. You will control the ownership of relevant policies, and procedure and ensure these are embedded throughout the product lifecycle. You will ensure systems and controls are in place, throughout the entire product lifecycle, and meet both FCA and PRA regulatory requirements and act as the product risk champion. Finally, you will support good customer outcomes, fair value, market appropriate, fit for purpose products and services, championing consumer duty.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and own the Outcome Based Testing proposition in relation to our consumer products
  • Conduct Product Reviews liaising with (in conjunction with the Senior Product Manager) Internal Audit and Compliance Monitoring in respect of any reviews and follow up actions of updating the relevant Procedures and Processes
  • Liaise with Compliance Monitoring, Internal and External Audits in respect of any annual reviews relating to QA and OBT
  • Own and maintain MI in relation to Consumer Duty
  • Control and manage the ownership of the product governance framework and associated policies and procedures. Including the on-going maintenance and communications to all teams
  • Facilitate reporting and presentation of performance metrics against the controls and service frameworks
  • Act as the Risk Champion for product management

Skills required

  • Experience working within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk control arrangements
  • Experience of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK banking (Customer Service, Credit. Financial Crime, Operations) and risk management & controls principles appropriate to the three lines of defence model
  • The ability to manage risk, compliance, and control activities
  • Considerable knowledge and experience of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the UK regulated financial services context
  • Understanding of compliance with group policies including Conduct Risk
