Job Summary
To assist the Senior Product Manager in developing and managing the Bank’s product offering, with consideration applied to the commercial, market and regulatory operating requirements (internal and external) through robust risk management in addition to managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Product Manager in the management of the Bank’s Savings product offering – the development of new product strategies/propositions and ongoing management of existing products.
- Regularly research and analyse customer needs and the UK Savings market.
- Monitor market competition by comparing the company's Savings products and criteria to competitors' products and make recommendations in line with business needs.
- Source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
- Attend offsite meetings with third party suppliers when required.
- Assist the Senior Product Manager by preparing new product proposals or change requests for committee approval.
- Assist in the production of management information for short-term and long-term product forecasts, special reports, and analysis of the Savings market.
- Work with colleagues across the Bank to develop product plans to support the Bank’s product offering.
- Manage the data supplied to market platforms that promote the Bank’s products and criteria.
- Deputise for the Senior Product Manager in internal and external meetings where necessary.
- Work closely with third-party stakeholders to gather all necessary data and MI, ensuring full alignment with Bank policy and reporting needs.
Skills required
- Previous experience of, or exposure to developing and launching retail products within UK Financial services.
- Knowledge of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of retail products in UK regulated financial services context.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex information and present this in clear and concise manner, to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
Beneficial skills and qualifications
- Understanding of Shariah compliant Banking
- Previous experience of product management.
- Minimum A level standard or equivalent is essential.
