Gatehouse Bank extends partnership with Depaul UK to help end youth homelessness
  • Gatehouse Bank to provide an additional two years of support to Depaul UK to achieve longer-lasting impact.
  • Charles Haresnape, CEO of Gatehouse Bank, joins the charity’s Council of Trustees.

Gatehouse Bank has today announced the extension of its partnership with youth homelessness charity, Depaul UK. The Bank’s CEO, Charles Haresnape has also joined Depaul UK’s Council of Trustees to support the incredible work Depaul UK does to reduce homelessness amongst young people.

The partnership was first announced in January 2025, when Gatehouse Bank colleagues selected Depaul UK as the Bank’s charity partner for the year. Following today’s extension, the partnership will now continue until December 2027. While a great deal of activity has already taken place, from colleague fundraising initiatives to hands-on volunteering, the new longer-term approach not only aligns with the Bank’s growing ESG ambitions but could deliver even greater value and impact to Depaul UK and the people it supports.

As a member of the charity’s Council of Trustees, Charles Haresnape will play a vital role in helping advance Depaul UK’s objectives to prevent and relieve the impact of homelessness on people’s lives and to help those affected equip themselves with the skills to thrive.

Over the next two years, Gatehouse Bank colleagues will continue to take part in fundraising activities to help Depaul UK provide emergency accommodation and long-term housing solutions for those in need and to deliver programmes offering education, employment training and mental health support.

Charles Haresnape, CEO of Gatehouse Bank, commented: “I am incredibly proud of the hard work of colleagues from across the Bank who are dedicated to the cause and are committed to creating real, lasting change. Thanks to all colleagues who have already fundraised and volunteered throughout the year, and I look forward to seeing what we can collectively achieve as we deepen our partnership with Depaul UK.”

“After hearing first-hand stories of those whose lives have been changed by Depaul UK, I knew I wanted to personally do more to support the charity’s mission to end youth homelessness. My new role as a Trustee will allow me to achieve this.”

Alexia Murphy, CEO of Depaul UK, said: “Through our engagement with Gatehouse Bank colleagues and CEO, Charles, it is clear that there is a strong alignment between our two organisations. We are very pleased to be extending our partnership so that we can achieve even more together.

“We are delighted to welcome Charles Haresnape to Depaul UK as a trustee. Our mission is to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it, and last year, we supported 11,512 young people across our services.

“Charles’ expertise and experience will help to support the long-term goals of both Depaul UK and Depaul Housing Services and I am excited to start work with him. I know his diverse set of skills, experience and insights will ensure the charity continues to support thousands of the country's most vulnerable young people!”
