Job Summary

The Marketing and Events Officer will assist in coordinating the day-to-day operational marketing needs of the Bank including events, website, digital, advertising, marketing material and product launches. The role includes providing support and assistance to the Marketing Team in the achievement of business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to manage the administration, organisation and implementation of external exhibitions & events.
  • Assist in the launch and promotion of new savings, finance and ancillary products and services.
  • Assist in the management and implementation of customer surveys.
  • Undertake regular analysis of all activity, including customer NPS (Net Promoter Score) surveys and produce reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Assist the Marketing Team with making changes to the website as required.
  • Maintain an archive of all marketing department and financial promotion material.
  • Ensure that formal reviews of website pages and documents are undertaken and logged accordingly.
  • Assist with managing Google and Trustpilot reviews.
  • Assist the Marketing Team in the management and implementation of the requirements of the risk framework, risk policies and controls, including logging sign offs of financial and non-financial promotions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of marketing activity including advertising, customer and corporate communications, email marketing, digital media and website content.
  • Ensure that all published material projects a professional image, is in line with brand guidelines and complies with all legal regulations and voluntary codes of practice and is co-ordinated to comply with Bank’s sign-off procedures.
  • Given the nature of the department, demonstrate a flexible approach and be prepared to occasionally work outside normal office hours, coupled with some UK travel.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this role, for which the role holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

Skills required

  • Experience of organising and/or implementing company attendance at events or exhibitions
  • Experience of organising and developing event specific marketing material.
  • Experience of a Marketing, Communications or Event management environment.
  • Experience of developing customer facing marketing communications.
  • Highly organised, numerate, computer literate, with strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Minimum – ‘A’ level qualifications or an equivalent qualification in relevant business area.

Beneficial skills and qualifications

  • Management of websites and content management systems (CMS).
  • Management of the artwork, print & production process.
  • Copy skills – copywriting/editing & proofing, with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Use of Adobe Creative Suite products – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
  • Co-ordination of email / direct mail campaigns, including data management and personalisation.
  • Project management skills.
  • Understanding of Shariah Finance and/or a regulated Financial Services environment.
  • Degree or appropriate professional qualification in relevant business area.
  • Project management qualification.
