Job Summary
The Prudential Risk Analyst will assist with undertaking key firm-wide risk management activities and as part of second line oversight monitor key bank risks (including Treasury counterparties, exposure limits, market, and liquidity risk) and capital; and investigate any large movements.
The role will require gaining an understanding of all aspects of Enterprise Risk together with the monitoring and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with second line of defence oversight of the bank’s key risks by performing firm-wide risk management activities, including Risk Appetite development & monitoring.
- Work towards being able to assist with capital and liquidity adequacy reporting and stress testing.
- Provide management information, reports, and updates on risk management dashboards to assist the Bank in controlling its risk profile.
- Support the maintenance of the stress testing governance framework and documentation.
- Assist in the updating and maintenance of the Bank’s regulatory documents (Risk Appetite, ICAAP, ILAAP and RRP) with a view to having full understanding of all elements over time.
- To develop an understanding of the monitoring and management of the bank’s portfolio of assets to ensure ongoing compliance with risk appetite.
- Support with the production, review and reporting of risk management information, including status of the risk appetite dashboard, to key stakeholders and committees across the bank.
- Involvement with new business initiatives and projects with the ability to take on various responsibilities whilst delivering to deadlines.
Skills required
- Relevant risk management & analysis experience within a recognised lending environment.
- A working knowledge of UK banking regulations and risk related standards and requirements.
- You must have good quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in one of the following: credit, operational, market, and capital risk management.
- Proficient using Excel and other analysis tools.
- Ability to interpret data and produce reports.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and extremely fast paced start-up environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
Beneficial skills and qualifications
Use of a range of bank IT systems and the requirements of automated reporting.
Knowledge of residential mortgages.
