Job Summary

To oversee the second line of defence (2LOD) across the Bank’s key risks by performing firm-wide risk management activities, including Risk Appetite development & monitoring.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor key bank risks (including Treasury counterparties, exposure limits, market and liquidity risk) and capital; and investigate any large movements
  • Lead on maintaining the stress testing governance framework and documentation
  • Lead on the maintenance of the Bank’s regulatory documents (Risk Appetite, ICAAP, ILAAP and RRP)
  • Monitoring and management of the bank’s portfolio of assets to ensure ongoing compliance with risk appetite
  • Support with the production, review and reporting of risk management information, including status of the risk appetite dashboard, to key stakeholders and committees across the bank
  • Co-ordinate the monthly production of Management information for ALCO, ERC and BRCC and present where required
  • Monitor the market risk profile of the Bank in relation to the daily reports and annual RCSA process
  • Lead by role modelling our ROC values and behaviours. People managers are also expected to adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure their team function effectively

Skills required

  • Relevant experience within a recognised home finance environment
  • Experience in two of the following: credit, operational, market, and capital risk management
  • Experience in completion of at least one regulatory document i.e. ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP
  • Statistical background to interpret data and produce reports
  • A working knowledge of UK banking regulations and risk related standards and requirements
  • You must have good quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient using Excel and other analysis tools
