Gatehouse Bank awarded Best Islamic Bank and Best Green Fixed Rate Savings Provider

Gatehouse Bank has received two awards this month, being named the “Best Islamic Bank in the United Kingdom” in Islamic Finance News’ (IFN) Best Banks Poll 2024 and “Best Green Fixed Rate Savings Provider” in the 2025 Moneynet Personal Finance Awards.

Islamic Finance News, which is the world’s leading Islamic finance publishing and media company, awarded Gatehouse with the accolade of “Best Islamic Bank in the United Kingdom” as part of its annual Best Banks Poll. This is the second consecutive year that Gatehouse Bank has received this award and fourth time overall, following previous award wins in 2020 and 2022. Providers are nominated and voted for by IFN’s readers and this year’s list reflects growth within the industry with its most diverse list of winners so far.

Andrew Tebbutt, Managing Director, REDmoney said: “IFN’s recognition of Gatehouse Bank as the “Best Islamic Bank in the UK” is testament to the Bank’s successful strategy and continued provision of innovative financial solutions for ethically minded consumers. IFN congratulates Gatehouse Bank for its continued success in a highly competitive and growing market.”

Gatehouse Bank has also been named the “Best Green Fixed Rate Savings Provider” by Moneynet for its range of Woodand Saver Accounts, having previously been recognised as the “Best Ethical Cash ISA Provider” in 2024. For every fixed-term deposit or cash ISA Woodland Saver account opened or renewed, Gatehouse Bank works with Forest Carbon to plant a tree on behalf of the customer across nine UK woodland projects, certified by the government’s Woodland Carbon Code.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Moneynet’s Personal Finance Awards, which recognise the top personal finance providers and products from the last twelve months. The winners are selected by a panel of personal finance and product specialists, with Moneynet noting that the best providers in 2024 were able to adapt to changing market conditions while delivering excellent choice, value and innovative solutions for customers.

Andrew Hagger, Personal Finance Expert and Chair of the Moneynet Awards judging panel, commented: “Gatehouse Bank’s fixed-term Woodland Saver Accounts provide a wide range of options for savers, ranging from six months to five years, alongside a competitive expected profit rate.*

“Additionally, the judges commended Gatehouse Bank for its simple application process and for providing customers with the option to have their profit paid monthly. Gatehouse Bank was the standout provider in this category, offering customers an excellent, no nonsense, flexible deal while at the same time boosting UK woodland growth.”

Charles Haresnape, CEO of Gatehouse Bank, commented: “We are delighted to have started the year with these two prestigious award wins and are grateful to the team at IFN and Moneynet for their continued consideration.

“Gatehouse Bank remains committed to providing the best service for our customers of all faiths and none, as well as products which align to their values. We see both awards as a testament to the continued hard work our colleagues have put in to continue achieving this goal over the last twelve months.”

*The expected profit rate is what Gatehouse Bank expects to deliver to customers when they invest their funds. It’s the profit that Gatehouse shares from the returns generated. To date, Gatehouse has always generated and paid customers the expected profit rate stated when the account is opened.
