Landlord experience requirements reduced (HMO & MUFB) and top slicing simplified
Following feedback received, we have today reduced the previous experience requirements for HMO and MUFB landlords and we have streamlined the documentation requirements for UK residents using top slicing.
Landlord experience requirement reduced for HMOs & MUFBs
We’ve made it easier for both UK and Overseas landlords to access Buy-to-Let (BTL) finance. The minimum experience requirement for HMO and MUFB landlords has been reduced from 2 years to just 1 year.
Top slicing now easier for UK residents
We’ve streamlined our top slicing criteria to make BTL applications more accessible.
- Income proof: only the latest payslip or SA302 and one month’s bank statement is now required (previously 3 months)
- Self-employed applicants: we’ve reduced the minimum requirement from 2 years of SA302s to just 1 year
Please refer to the updated Packaging Guidelines - BTL self financing UK residents and our criteria guides on our website. If you have any questions you can speak to your local BDM
