Mortgage Brain – top tips for sourcing Gatehouse Bank

Good news! Earlier this year Mortgage Brain, the leading technology provider to the mortgage and home finance industry, added Gatehouse Bank to its Sourcing Brain and Criteria Brain platforms. This will give you greater access to the Bank’s products when sourcing finance options for your clients.

How to easily add Gatehouse Bank to your Panel:

If you use Sourcing Brain, please see the instructions below on how to update your settings to help you find Gatehouse Bank on the sourcing system and include us in your panel of finance providers within your search results.

1. Log on to the Sourcing Brain homepage.
2. In the top right-hand side click the Profile (circular) icon.
3. Click the profile icon and then click ‘Settings’ in the drop-down.
4. Select ‘Custom Lender Panels’.
5. On the left-hand side, click your bespoke panel list, then click the blue ‘Edit’ button in the middle.
6. In ‘Panel Description’, type in ‘Gatehouse’, click the check box beside it and then and click ‘Save’.

PLEASE NOTE: some brokers who are an Appointed Representative may have some functionality preset by their compliance department so may be unable to do the above. Please check with your organisation for further clarification.

Integrating Criteria Brain to source products for various residency statuses including foreign nationals living overseas

We know that one of the repeated top searches are questions relating to visas and whether foreign nationals can be accepted for cases. By integrating Criteria Brain with Sourcing Brain, you can find the right products sooner by combining detailed criteria and improve your product searches to assist with complex cases. The refresher below shows you how to do this:

1. Log on to the Sourcing Brain homepage.
2. Click 'New Search' in the top-left corner and the ‘Start’ section page will appear (top-left). Populate the three columns then click ‘Source’ in the bottom-right of the screen.
3. On the 'Sourcing' page (top-left), populate all boxes (and mandatory boxes outlined in blue) then click 'Criteria Brain' checkbox where the button is in the middle of the screen.
4. On the 'Criteria Brain' screen, scroll down and towards the bottom of the left-hand column you will be presented with a 'Keyword' search bar. So for example, if you typed in 'foreign', you would be presented with all options for foreign nationals. Select your intended customer base, then scroll back up, in the top-left corner tick the box 'Critical Criteria' and then select 'Yes' in the drop-down search bar.

6. Then, at the top-right of all search results at the top of the page, a red box will show that says 'Send search results to Mortgage Brain'.

You need to click this box and then the results will be sent to Sourcing Brain, where the criteria search is transferred over into this platform.

7. A box will come up in the middle and click the blue button that says ‘Apply.

8. Then on Sourcing Brain, populate all mandatory buttons in the top white bar (Sourcing, Client Details, Property and Product Filters, Buy-to-Let and Adverse Credit), then click ‘Results’, and all products that match will appear will appear including whether they match the criteria.

Filtering Made Easy!

You can filter out products based on specific parameters using the advanced filters box. One particularly useful filter is for residency. Simply add ‘UK’, INTL’ or ‘Expat’ into the Notes Advanced Filter to get the results you need.

Filter shortcuts for Gatehouse bank products:

UK: for those residing in the UK.

INTL: for those living overseas but looking to buy in England or Wales.

Expat: for UK residents currently living abroad.
